About Grandma Wild’s
At Grandma Wild’s Biscuits, we cherish the importance of every little detail. As a family business spanning four generations, we proudly continue the legacy of baking biscuits using the very same recipes crafted by our great grandmother, Annie Wild, over a century ago.
The original Wild’s Bakery was established around 1899 in the charming Victorian seaside retreat of Morecambe, Lancashire. Annie Wild managed both the bakery shop and a boarding house, which has now transformed into today’s delightful bed and breakfast, all while being a dedicated mother to her three boys.
In the 1920s, Annie’s eldest son, John Wild, chose to return to his Yorkshire roots, seeking a change from the seasonal summer trade. Alongside Annie, he opened a shop in Haworth, where they began to nurture the rich heritage of Grandma Wild’s exceptional baking recipes.
In 1928, John acquired larger premises just outside Haworth, serving as the family bakery for several decades until the turn of the new millennium. It was then that the bakery found a new home in Steeton, West Yorkshire.
Despite its humble beginnings, our business has experienced remarkable growth over the years. Nevertheless, we remain steadfast in upholding the traditional family values and unwavering dedication laid down by our founder, Grandma Annie Wild, all those years ago.
